I love how she meets Finch for the first time:

Turning, the military woman looks down on Finch. She takes in his fine clothes. It’s his honest, boyish face with blue eyes that throws her. She can’t help but laugh when he turns around, lifts his coat, and shakes his bum. Her smile drops just as quickly when he walks away without looking back.

“Hey, vyrodok, don’t you want to watch me shake mine?”
